Geoff “G Notorious” White has been repping bass heavy sounds from the UK underground since the early 90’s from Hardcore and Jungle (as G White) through the entire spectrum of Speed Garage, 2-Step, and UK Garage to Grime, Dubstep, and UK Funky, and continues to follow Bass music worldwide.

Initially starting his DJ career as one of the first five Jungle DJ’s in Boston with a residency at the seminal Jungle Roots/Sessionz franchise, he also made regular appearances at Toneburst events and local raves as well as a playing on the weekly WJUL radio show, The Syndicate. Throughout his 30+ year DJ career, G Notorious has played all over Northeast US and as far as Miami, FL, Urbana-Champaign, IL, and Dallas, TX.

In the early 2000s, he started Boston’s first regular 2-Step night Lively, which then moved into the side room at The Rinse and further evolved into the infamous Chinatown weekly DnB & UKG extravaganza, Runnin’ Fridays. During this time he launched SoulChampion.com, initially focusing on his pursuit of bringing 2-Step/UKG to a wider audience in Boston and the northeast US. The scope of the site continually expanded as a community and sharing space for DJs and producers making and playing 2-Step and other variants and offshoots of UKG and related sounds across the US and Canada. Locally, the site and night also spawned the SoulChampion Crew which included G Notorious, Elyte/E-heavy (aka Eli Soul Clap), Jam-2, Senyo, and frequent involvement from DJ Inanna.

Several years later he ran Dubwise at the Enormous Room which showcased diverse bass music as Dubstep exploded onto the world scene and UK Funky and Bassline made it to American dance floors.

G Notorious was once listed by URB Magazine one “…of the most promising up-and-coming (UK Garage) producers here at home (the US)” and has released various tracks and collaborations on vinyl, compilation CDs, and digital download.

Today, while family and career occupy much of his time and energy, his public appearances are more rare but he still keeps an ear to the ground for new permutations of rugged breaks, off kilter swung beats and heavy bass as they continue to combine in new ways to create fresh new sounds. He has also been busy back in the studio hammering out tunes with plans for public release coming soon…
